What age is the best to start speed reading?

One of the frequently asked questions is when is the right time to start learning speed reading? I would suggest starting it from 13 -14 years of age. At this age the vocabulary is relatively broad and the child is motivated for such knowledge.

Evelyn Wood research

Evelyn Wood started the research following her master’s thesis in the University of Utah. The professor Dr. C. Lowell Lees read and graded her 80-page paper in ten minutes. Although without special training, he was able to read 2500 words per minute, that is, ten times faster than average. At that time speed reading was considered to be up to 400 words per minute.

The biggest fear in speed reading

I would say we stop improving in the Higher School. The pace of reading stops due to two reasons: the lack of methodology and the limited physiological abilities of periphery. Just like we advanced putting letters to words, we should be able to connect words to increasingly larger groups.
